This week at the Hero House:
In the previous post we mentioned there would be some pretty drastic changes over the next two weeks!
In just one week Stuart and his team have completely ripped out the old cabinets and countertops, including the peninsula. The new peninsula will have easy access storage including a side access cabinet. They removed all of the brick from the interior walls, shortly after they started the drywall mud work creating a reborn surface! New electrical has been installed and prepped for canned lighting overhead as well as an outlet for the new refrigerator location. The bookshelf has been removed and the old door that once stood beside it has been drywalled in. The new location of the doorway has been cut out. With the help of an old window that was previously closed in Stuart’s team were able to lower the once and now re-existing opening.
We are excited to add cabinetry and extra countertop space where it was originally missing. We will also be adding a hutch to match the cabinets in the kitchen. This will be additional storage for cookbooks and small appliances in the dining room.
Still to come:
We will soon be seeing the completion of the demo! Cleaned and polished saltillo flooring, installed lighting, a new window, a completed doorway leading to the office, the moving of outlets for easier accessibility after the remodel is complete, and fresh paint!
